Awsome news! i read a comment about Redemption being "LESS" than Bloodlines, how false! in most aspects Redemption is way better thab Bloodlines, besides... there are no game stoping bugs in Redemption, did i mentioned super replayable Multiplayer? geesh how dull can people be? does GFX is all that matters?

Redemption is different than bloodlines. Vanilla Redemption is worse than vanilla Bloodlines (patch 1.2), but Redemption comes with multiplayer (+) AND is possible to mod it.

Both have very weak combat, and as it is focus of both games i would not call either good game. Redeeming quality is of course setting. oWorld of Darkness is fantastic world with good mood.

I'm not eye candy whore, so obviously it does not bother me that Bloodlines have better graphics. But i like games where physics play integral role in combat (here bloodlines are bit better), and games where melee combat require some skills to master (bloodlines are bit better, but again, not by much and even Die by the Sword that was released 11 years ago required way more skills).

Also, in bloodlines 'quests' could be solved in different way, and combat is not the only thing player do in the game. So i can see why people consider bloodlines better than redemption.

In comparison to other games, both VtM titles were pretty weak game-play-wise. Redemption was trying to go up against Diablo 2 at the time. Instead of making a game that rivals Diablo, they made a Single Player game that was weak in both WoD and Diablo. Yet they made a nice engine with a decent multiplayer. Nod Engine is pretty cool.  On the other hand, choosing WON.net was a mistake. A mistake that cost Activision dearly.

Then there's Bloodlines, trying to live up to Troika's Fallout 1&2 reputation. Instead, living up to Troika's buggy game reputation. Using the alpha version of Source was a mistake and the engine paid dearly. The physics are complete shit. Factor in a memory leak that Troika didn't bother to fix on their own and you have hell to pay. The alpha Source engine used to make Bloodlines was complete crap. With no multiplayer or SDK available, Bloodlines' lifespan was shorter than Redemption. Most people didn't care that Bloodlines had a great setting. They wanted Bloodlines to be Half Life 2 and were disappointed.

So true. Bloodlines have quite decent storyline, but without multiplayer and decent engine i expected that it'll have short live.

It was mistake to release this game in the same timeframe as hl2.
