Check out this thread at CryMod:

http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=58132

It appears that the DVD Tutorials for Softimage are now being given away for as free downloads. If you're interested, DARK LOBO... hint hint.... nudge nudge. Be sure to check it out. There's a tutorial coming on the 11th that covers rigging. I'm unsure if these downloads are applied only for this month or will be repeated every month. Be sure to grab what you can on the dates that are applicable.

I'm currently on the 9th day. I should have caught this earlier. I hope it repeats next month. But if you're really serious about transitioning to CryEngine, don't miss these tutorials!

Seems like the site had to shut down (not sure for how long) due to abuse of some kind so I went around the crymod forum to find some things on xsi rigging and what not. Ran across this tutorial:

XSI to sandbox: adding collision and LODs to animated objects

I may look into this further then give it a try then maybe build my own narrated version of the tutorial.

From the looks of things, you can build completely new skeleton structures if you're willing to make all the needed animations for them. If I can build a base model skeleton, I could distribute it to the community for public use in rigging. That way, it'll save some work. I was thinking of starting with a bloodlines model like that Therese I was working on last time. Perhaps I'll build a new skeleton for her then make the source info public with a follow-up tutorial. Gonna be awhile though. I'm still sorting things out from my HD mess up awhile back.

I just love things that support stuff like this... i wish we could create Skeletons and Animations for Redemption as well... its sad, but sometimes you just have to move on.
