Seems not, some dude explained me in another forum that CrossfireX can be paired with any HD2000, HD3800, and HD4800... old Crossfire (with no X at the end) could be paired up with a couple of the Xseries...
So i assume you can pair of HD3200 and a HD3800, and so on with the HD2k, HD3k and HD4k, so its a little more flexible than SLI, that has to be exact same GPU, same Ram, Same Frecuency and even same voltage... that leaves you to buy 2 exact video cards, where you can buy 2 different gpu of the same ATi SERIES and pair them.

What i do like about nVidia is their driver support, GPU`s as old as the FX, 6, 7 Series are still getting nice Drivers that boost performance... That is amazing, there is no other hardware developer that still makes drivers for a 6 year old product, yet nVidia Does, on the other side ATi only does drivers for new products which they discontinue after 2 years, thats SAD big time... yet im going ATi this time because their products are rather non-expensive and durable.

Where are checking for your drivers? Where are getting your info? ATI still makes drivers for older cards. My Radeon x700 is going on 4 years old and there are still drivers being made.

Sounds like you really need to have Windows 7 to take full advantage of SSD's, which is just fine by me. After playing with Windows 7 for so long, I can't stand XP. XP is an outdated piece of crap anymore.

What is this SSD? never heard of them before... im getting Win7, as soon as it releases!
So far my new pc has this:
GIGABYTE GA-MA790GPT-UD3H DDR3 1333 4Gb AthlonII X4 (Whoa they just arrived when i got to the store! i was getting the AthlonII X2) 360 GB HDD I got a Blue Ray off second hand for arround 40 bucks.
Bad news is i dont have a decent GPU, right now im stuck with the 3300HD onboard that can be Hybrid Xfired with 2 4350HD, i plan on getting them and that should be olmost like having a 4800HD, or just getting a 4800HD will do just fine...
I pretty much build it myself... when i was checking prices all arround, they had many PC for sale which had the Vista Original Key to the open EYE... well i pulled my Cell Phone and kinda wrote down few Keys haha, thake that MacroShit! thats why im sticking to Vista for the moment while 7 arrives.

SSD stands for Solid State Drive. SSD will eventually replace the hard drive (HD) we currently use. SSD has no moving parts, runs considerably faster than any HD on the market, and is much more durable. This means the OS will load within seconds, games will load levels almost instantly, and transfering large files that originally took minutes will take mere seconds.

Oh God thats so awsome! i assume the capacity is still under development... since 60Gb is kinda small... but the technology sounds great! i asume in 5 years it will be affordable with capacity over 1TB, quite awsome!

Yeah, and there is a huge range of read/write times you have to pay close attention to as well. It also appears that some have firmware issues causing them to loose performance over time. I think by late spring of 2010 I'll consider a SSD but not just yet.

It Just happened... "MSI P55 Big Bang", a Motherboard that supports both ATi and nVidia working at the same time... DAAMN IT! this what i been waiting and i already spend my money DAMN DAMN DAMN! it seems the board was released in August, you can use 2 SLI nVidia boards and 1 ATi, or 2 CrossfireX and a nVidia... or maybe a combination of a 9800GT, 4870HD and a old Gpu you have lying arround... like a Radeon x800 or a GeForce 5200FX... limitless possibilities, Goodbye CrossfireX and SLI: http://www.iopanel.net/forum/thread31404.htmlhttp://www.lucidlogix.com/ (Israeli Company) I kinda feel cheated... i spend all my money on the new 790GX chipset... i think i will wait till there is a mobo that supports Hydra 100 or 200 for the 790GX or a better Chipset, then ill sell the one i got and get that monster beast mobo.

I suspect the video drivers would likely conflict anyway, you should feel comfortable with your current choice.

Win7 Supports 2 GPU each with different manufacturer driver, so this indeed works quite well, what it does is split the workload between the 2 GPU and send it directly to the CPU, but you will indeed need Win7 for this to work, but arent we all planning to move to 7?
I can only imagine a board with Lucid Hydra 200 working with Intel Larrabee GPU, ATi 5800HD DX11 and the nVidia 300 DX11 Fermi Board... hmm amazing...
